I searched and searched, but was unable to come up with a version of this song by any of the marvelous artists who passed away this year. Thus on this final day of 2017 I am diverting from my theme to present What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve? sung by the legendary Karen Carpenter.
General
Winter Wonderland
I have never personally used these two words to describe the same thing, but to each his own.
Noël Ensemble
I noticed several months ago that a quite a few musical artists had passed away this year, a trend that continued throughout the rest of 2017. My holiday selections this year have featured some of these artists who have enriched our lives. Today’s pick is a little different. Not only had I never heard of Johnny Halliday, I was unaware that there was a “French Elvis.” While I am not up to the task of translating the lyrics – the title means “Christmas Together” – we can count ourselves fortunate that music truly is the universal language.
Gloria in Excelsis Deo
Frosty the Snowman
A fine song for a chilly day.
Merry Christmas Baby
Just cuz, ya know. It’s hard leaving Christmas behind.
Go Tell It On the Mountain
Merry Christmas.
Hark the Herald Angels Sing
Merry Christmas.
Spending Christmas
I went to bed at 6:00 last night and slept until 3:00 this afternoon. I have been awake for a whopping 3 hours and think it may be time for some more healing slumber. But not before spending some quality Christmas with Chuck Berry first.
